What happened to Kara Dennison?

I love the voice of Kara Dennison! I want her back. Right now.

There is, alas, usually a valid reason for such things.
Still, let us as "audience" not be inhospitable to new cast members.

I thought I heard something about her computer crashing and it holding up the release of S31. They waited a long time and I thought I heard that she was re-recording the lines, but that was awhile ago. By the way I love the Korg Crossover into Hidden Frontier. It's great that two agencies can cooperate like that. I was listening to it the other day and was quite surprised to hear his voice.

We make the cast change when there was little choice left to us. The major reason for the extended gap between episodes was because of Kara's computer issues. Now understand I love Kara's work and we waited a very.... very..... very.... Very long time for her to try and resolve the issues she was having.

However after several months waiting it was decided that we had to move ahead. I wish Kara well in her future endeavors and would enjoy a chance to work with her again.

But as of now until the end of the series the role of Dalonna will be played by Damaris Mannering. I feel Damaris bring a kind of Captain Janeway feel to the role. And I for one am looking forward to what she bring to it in the future.

Does that mean she's available for scouting after someones steam cleaned her compy? Excellent, Excellent!

She's been around a while, actually. She's an extremely dedicated and talented person. It's a shame to see her go but it's understandable that under the circumstances of her computer not being operable and all the other people she helps out. She has brought a lot to the table as far as this series goes. She put a lot of heart into the role and gave me a true understanding of how conflicted a person can be when involved in an organization like Section 31. SHe aternated between hardliner and emotional and her work is a pleasure to listen to.
Unfortunately, life needs to go on, and this decision was not an easy one for us. Kara, in the end, told us to go on and recast (after several attempts to get her PC and recording stuff to work). If it could have been resolved, it would have, but sadly, it was not to be.
Damaris has big shoes to fill, but I Am sure she will make us all proud.

Wow. On the one hand, Kara Dennison was one of the best actors (or actresses) I have ever heard/seen on the Internet. She threw herself into the role of Captain Dalonna with wonderful tenacity... a tenacity that only improved over the years.

However, this new actress... Ms. Mannering, I believe, brings a certain new taste to the role of Dalonna. She strongly reminds me of Genevive Bujold, as seen in the role of Captain Janeway during the first day of filming for "Caretaker." It's a huge pair of shoes to fill, and I don't doubt that the character will have to change along with the new actress, but a hearty Welcome Aboard from this audience member.

Well yes, and it has been duely noted and bookmarked for future referance.

So is this series winding down or is there going to be more after the Genie thing? I hope it will continue!

That's Genii- and it does look like a 3rd season is possible.

For those who may not remember, there was a reference in "Reflections from the Gulf" to an infection which needed to be dealt with.

Ok, yeah I remember that now. I was just wondering because when you said the new cast member was going to play the role of the captain until the end of the series I thought that meant it might be soon. Glad to hear it's continuing.
